At Ventus Rex, we are honored to partner with Next Steps for Change, a nonprofit organization based in Wisconsin that is dedicated to providing peer support to individuals who are suffering from substance use disorders. The work that Next Steps does is truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to be able to support their mission.

Led by founder and Executive Director Natalie Morescki, Next Steps is a hub for peer support, connecting individuals who want a peer to walk alongside them, training those in recovery who want to learn the skills to be a peer, offering employment for individuals who want to walk alongside others, and partnering with other professionals who provide referrals and are part of the team. Through these efforts, Next Steps is building community-based support teams to help connect members of the community who are struggling with substance use disorders with the resources they need to take the next steps toward recovery.

Research shows that peer support is crucial in substance use and recovery, leading to increased empowerment, hope, social functioning, engagement in treatment, community engagement, and overall quality of life and satisfaction. And the work that Next Steps is doing is making a real difference in the lives of those they serve.

In their first month on the Rex platform, Next Steps logged 769 community engagements and more than 1400 hours of service. The Rex platform has helped Next Steps get organized and with the goal of helping them scale their programming to reach more people in the community and grow their funding. With Rex’s support, Next Steps can focus on what matters most – helping individuals on their journey toward recovery.

We are thrilled to partner with Rex,” says Natalie. “Navigating the challenges of peer support can be overwhelming, and Rex has helped us streamline our processes and track our outcomes. With Rex, we can focus on what matters most: providing high-quality peer support to those who need it most.

At Ventus Rex, we believe in the power of technology to support and enhance the important work that organizations like Next Steps are doing. We are proud to support Next Steps’ efforts and are committed to helping them make a difference in the lives of those struggling with substance use disorders. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community and help people on their journey toward recovery.
